Capote y Toros in London
May 11, 2018
It’s taken a while but London is slowly beginning to embrace sherry. First came the superior tapas bars, the Barrafinas and Brindisas, next came the dedicated sherry bars. Located on the Old Brompton Road between Earls Court and South Ken, Capote y Toros is the latest addition to the latter pool category. The bar stocks a dauntingly large array of sherries from rich, sweet Olorosos to crisp Manzanillas. There’s an equally wide wine list and the kitchen serves superb Iberico pork charcuterie as well as other Andalucian-inspired tapas. The space is bright and airy, the narrow room simply decked out with wooden tables and stools, one wall groaning with wine bottles and sherry barrels, the other loaded with photographs.
