The Phene
London-West London
May 11, 2018
The multifunctional venue is a luxurious affair for a pub with wooden floors, high ceilings and plush seating area – the well-curated outdoor seating area is fantastic on those minimal but precious sunny days in London. The clientele at The Phene is a mix of stylish locals and visitors to the capital and while it is located in one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods, is never pretentious – though it is very Chelsea.
The chefs at The Phene work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create a varied menu of pub classics, sharing boards and light snacks. The dinner menu includes favourites such as chicken and mushroom pie, lamb rump and burgers with plenty of starters, sides and puddings. They also serve a weekend brunch and Sunday lunch menu. They also offer over 30 wines to accompany the food with an innovative cocktail list to take you through from dawn till dusk. Especially curated menus for events such as Mother’s Day, Valentine’s and Christmas are also available.
The impressive building in which the pub is housed was built by and named after the respected architect John Samuel Phene. Frequented by the great and good of Chelsea from actors to politicians it was known George Best’s favourite pub. Those designated as key workers, police personnel, fire crews and NHS workers (among others), are entitled to a 10% discount on food and drinks – you are required to download their City Club app prior to receiving your discount.
