Wall-to-wall glass-fronted wine cabinets line the perimeter of ABA Bar, which is more reminiscent of an elegant boudoir than your typical hotel bar. Offering an elegant spot to taste some of the world’s finest wines and champagnes, ABA Bar is located in the equally as luxurious MGM Macau hotel and attracts a sophisticated international clientele who enjoy the finer things in life. Muted tones, sleek design and plush seating are prevalent throughout ABA Bar, as is fine crystal – the premium champagnes here are served in St. Louis crystal flutes and the bar itself drips with crystal-embellished lighting. Wines are served by the glass and the bottle – with a particularly full-bodied French Bordeaux the star of the show – but the champagne list at ABA Bar is what draws the biggest crowds. Brut, vintage and rose champagnes are sold by the bottle and range from a modest chilled Moet to an extravagant Armand de Brignac. For those with a little less expensive taste, there are plenty of top-shelf spirits, classic and signature cocktails, whiskies, cognacs, ports and even a selection of grappa. Savory accompaniments to the beverages include a handful of special reserve caviars and a small international tapas menu featuring oysters, croquettes and a cheese platter. Happy hour runs until 9pm every day, with 2-for-1 specials on selected menu drinks.
