A rustic blend of classic Spanish and contemporary flamboyance, Olé Lola is easily one of the best spots in Madrid for masterfully made – and garnished – drinks and delectable dishes. Walking into Olé Lola is an experience unto itself, as dark wood fixtures and warm red lighting envelopes you while sultry portraits surround you and steal glances from the stone walls. Dripping candles and plush couches complete the scene, creating an atmosphere prime for imbibing some of Madrid’s best cocktails. The cocktail list is divided into six different sections – Refreshing, Ice Cream, Light, Gastronomic, Healthy, and Strong – in an effort to guide all guests quickly to a mix they’ll match up with. The Refreshing cocktails are a great place to start, with such staples as a premium Cuba Libre, Jack & Ginger, and a La Rosa de Lola – gin, lime juice, and tonic accompanied by ravishing roses. From the Ice Cream section comes a prickly Frozen Spicy Mango Margarita with tequila, mango, lime, agave and hint of spice along with the decadent Chocolate Strawberry Daiquiri. The Gastronomic section may just be home to the most clever concoctions as the mixologists at Olé Lola use the flavors of the kitchen to inspire the presentations. Stars include the Fall Caipirinha, that makes use of chestnut syrup, and the Lemon Dessert married with a creamy meringue flambé.
