Situated off Deansgate, this bar follows in the footsteps of its sister venue in Leeds. The focus is very much on music here, with less of the cheese and more of an emphasis on old school indie and anthems; nothing too cutting edge but refreshing all the same compared to most city centre bars. The narrow room is warmly lit, though seating is scarce and it can get rammed on the weekends. The post-work crowd is a little more grown up than some of the competition, but this is no bad thing and, as a result, even when it’s busy, it’s never intimidating. The cocktail list features all of the usual suspects, well mixed, and there’s basic but decent bar food on offer too.
