Tribeca Bar and B.E.D
May 11, 2018
Shamelessly capitalising on the acronymic name of the hip, lower Manhattan district inhabited by Robert De Niro, Tribeca Bar (and its downstairs sheets and mattress haven B.E.D.) still manages to pull off an element of style and sophistication recognisable in its namesake. So-called because it is situated in a triangle below the canal, it’s a swish lounge bar with low couches and tables and great cocktails in pitchers at the bar. Choose fruity delights from lemon-rich margaritas to orange-rich sangrias. They call the special drink offers on Friday and Saturday nights “Central Perk” – another American rip-off we know, but the prices are worth the lack of imagination. Music ranges from laid-back sounds in the day to R&B and New York-style jazz at night, and if you really want to get down and funky, go to B.E.D, their downstairs lounge bar. With its sultry black beds, sheets and drapes and tasty Pacific Rim menu, you can dine while you recline. Now B.E.D… haven’t we heard that name before too?
