Ocean’s Telephone Company

Hiding above Frank & Dean – one of the coolest new cafe-and-coffee combos in Manila – Ocean’s Telephone Company is a secret speakeasy that takes all those who enter on a trip back to the past, helping make their present one to be remember. To gain access to the bar, you must first scale the stairs from Frank & Dean, and then look for a quintessentially British red telephone booth.
Once inside its walls, you will quickly discover that the hanging phones aren’t for making calls, they are for concealing a doorway that will lead you to Ocean’s Telephone Company. The bar dazzles on first impressions, presenting a timeless lair layered with leather, dark woods, and a buzzing neon sign that spells out the name of the bar. Rat Pack classics like old fashioneds, mint juleps, and mai tais dominate the cocktail card, and are composed by hand at the bar with superior skill. Ocean’s Telephone Company also throws in a couple of up-to-the-minute drinks just to keep things fresh, like the Lychee Martini – rum, lychee, simple syrup, and lime juice – and the Mango Margarita, made with premium tequila, mango, triple sec, lime juice, and their house blend of spices. In addition, they are home to an extensive range of premium imported spirits, taking especially good care of whiskey connoisseurs.
Don’t let the vintage cocktails fool you into thinking the nightlife is on the subdued side though, because nothing could be further from the truth as the space stays lively late, full of a fun crowd enjoying some of the city’s best DJs.
