- Night Out

Having moved from its original Southwark location, Alumbra is now to be found at the end of Central Pier. The bar is housed in cargo shed dating from 1914 and has been decorated in a sympathetic and attractive fashion. Inside, the space has been divided into several distinct areas with lots of little nooks and corners for sitting in. The views are quite something. The Alumbra is surrounded on three sides by water and you are faced with a near 360-degree panorama of the Docklands and the city skyline. There’s a glass dance floor surrounded by Buddha statues and lattice screens. The bar itself sits under a canopy of glass chandeliers. There are Turkish nibbles and the drinks are pretty nifty too, perfect fodder for those views.
