The entrance door with a peep‐hole and a copy of the 18th Amendment ‐ establishing the prohibition of alcoholic beverages in the US in the 1920s ‐ sets the scene for this speakeasy‐themed bar. Inside, Father’s Office is chock‐full of vintage pieces and 1920s inspired details. A tin ceiling and custom‐made copper copper beer tap over the industrial‐style bar completes the underground feel. And for those who need a little breather back in the modern world, the large wrap‐around balcony provides impressive views of the State Library. In keeping with the prohibition era‐theme, there’s an emphasis on rum and whisky on the drinks menu, as well as a selection of tap beers from local micro‐brewers. Signature cocktails include Mr Sage’s Applesauce ‐ gin, housemade apple and sage shrub, lemon and sugar, garnished with apple. And there’s a selection of secret recipe punch‐bowls to share with friends.
