Paying homage to the legendary TV character George Costanza, George's Bar serves plenty of quirkiness on the side of its delicious drinks and toasties.

Fans of the the iconic ‘90s TV show Seinfeld rejoice; there is now a bar in Melbourne, Australia dedicated to George Costanza. And while they may boast about being a ‘bar about nothing’, George’s Bar is without a doubt one of the coolest spots in the city for a drink, a toastie, and some Constanza-inspired quotes and convo well into the night.
Located in a heritage-listed building in the hip Fitzroy district of Melbourne, George’s Bar is stylish on the inside, but it’s the exterior of the bar that we simply have to talk about first. That’s because on the facade of the building, you’ll find a massive street art mural of George Costanza posing in his underwear on a chaise lounge (an image taken straight from a famous episode of the show), and it truly sets the tone for the fun to come inside.
There, you’ll find Seinfeld memorabilia including an old-school NYC payphone, a Yankees jersey, and plenty of George’s best quotes on the wall, and of course the buzzworthy food and drinks. Fun bites like The Quitter (pesto, tomato, and mozzarella) pair perfectly with the craft beer on tap, and George’s has also become well known in Melbourne for a quality list of cocktails. Unlike a night at home with George’s parents from the show, a roster of DJs keeps the party going well into the night on the weekends, and while the awning outside reads ‘be more like George’, our advice to the other venues out there is ‘be more like George’s Bar’.
