Hanoi Hannah offers hawker-style food and killer cocktails to the denizens of southeast Melbourne. It’s a pairing of which we approve: fun, fast, hip and affordable. Traditional (and not so traditional) Vietnamese street-eats feature on the food menu (five spice quail and delicious soft-shell crab) and the cocktail list boasts refreshing concoctions like the lychee and lemongrass caipiroska or a gin iced tea with aloe vera foam. Their white wine sangria is a great option if you’re looking to share. The space itself is compact and quirky, with bare brickwork and an appealingly cluttered bar area. It’s worth waiting for a perch to become available.
