New Gold Mountain
May 11, 2018
You could easily walk by New Gold Mountain; the entrance gives away little of the delights inside. But you’d be sorry if you did. This place is gorgeous. Truly stunning. This air of the secretive suits the place to a tee. The interior has a vague opium den vibe, the decor referencing a Shanghai of years gone by. There are beaded curtains and carved wooden screens; in one room pink and red fabric cascades from the ceiling. It’s all striking stuff. And, luckily, there’s equal parts substance to style. The bar is incredibly well-stocked and the cocktails are potent things indeed. Table service adds to the mood. A Melbourne must.
