Housed in an atmospheric old terrace on Lonsdale Street, Seamstress is a bar with real character. Inside it’s split into a restaurant and a cocktail bar, with a further space in the basement. The bar area has an artful bohemian feel, with flowers on tables and Chinese dresses suspended from the ceiling. There are a few secluded leather booths but, in the main, the place has a splendidly cluttered aesthetic. Cocktails are Asian influenced 9as is the food in the restaurant) and delightful. Prices are reasonable for drinks of this quality and the mood is stylish yet relaxed with it.
What their peers say
“Cutting edge cocktails on the first floor, a bustling Asian bistro on the second floor and a low key lounge in the attic: three levels for owner Jason Chan to demonstrate his mastery of food, wine, beer, coffee and cocktails.” Jim Meehan of PDT, New York
