Woods of Windsor

Created with an eye to bringing a splash of sophistication to the popular nightlife strip in Windsor, The Woods of Windsor delivers big time with proper cocktails, bar food, and a casual yet hip atmosphere. The bar at The Woods of Windsor looks exactly as you would expect a venue with “the woods” in its name would look; composed of dark woods and curvaceously arching its way through the main room, overlooked by assorted taxidermy – most prominently a stuffed bust of the mythical jackalope. Just past the bar, a beautiful dining room enveloped by brick walls, low light, and vintage portraits places patrons somewhere between a lodge and an antique shop. The food menu is seasonal, and as a result is always changing, but no matter what the page on the calendar is on when you arrive, the focus is always on fresh quality produce. Cocktails are the reason we came though, with few of our favorites being the warming The Woods Blazer – premium dark rum, cinnamon syrup, walnut and tiki bitters – the smoky The Skye’s The Limit – ten-year-old whisky with a splash of premium sherry and a hint of dry orange curacao – and the refreshing The Lime Serpent – premium gin, homemade kaffir lime syrup, and fresh lemongrass. In addition, The Woods of Windsor features a “Negroni Twist List” (home to creative takes on the classic), whisky flights drawn from an award-collecting list, and fantastic wine and craft beer selections.
