A hip locale in Mexico City, Baltra pays homage to Charles Darwin's quest for knowledge and our modern thirst for undiscovered cocktail combinations.

Drawing inspiration from Charles Darwin and his exotic and educational journeys around the fascinating Galapagos Islands, Baltra is as original with its theme as it is with its cocktails. Named after an island in the Galapagos Island chain, Baltra blends cocktail mastery with a low key and laid back atmosphere you wouldn’t quite expect from a bar receiving the kind of attention it has. Located in the heart of Mexico City’s cosmopolitan Condesa neighborhood, and just steps from the leafy park refuge that is the Parque Mexico, Baltra has definitely taken on a bit of the personality of this chic-yet-relaxed district. Upon entry to Baltra though, you will leave Mexico City behind, being swept away into the world of Charles Darwin, surrounded by rustic walls adorned with vintage maps, paintings of butterflies, lithographs of animal anatomy, and furry taxidermy. The drinks at Baltra are seasonal and the utmost of evolved, created by a team that has recently been awarded accolades from all over the globe for their mixology skills. The menu at Baltra is constantly evolving but no matter when you drop in, you are sure to be treated to one of the best cocktails in the city crafted with only the freshest ingredients. Recent combinations have included mezcal together with bitter citrus and celery, herbal liqueur with lavender, and pisco with apple and prosecco. The bar has also become famous in a short time for its Recovery Island Sundays featuring bold and spicy bloody marys.
