Hotel lobby bars can be chilly, formal places. Afterthoughts, garnish. But this is avowedly not the case with Miami’s Bleau Bar at the historic Fontainebleau Hotel. Everyone who’s anyone has imbibed here over the years. Old Hollywood and new. The hotel recently underwent a costly makeover with the bar remaining at the heart of things. Boasting a prime view of the hotel’s famous sweeping staircase with the blue of the pool glimpsed through the windows, the glass-ceilinged space is as stylish as it’s ever been. Drinks are suitably bright and sunny while their afternoon tea is a popular way to linger and people watch (and there are usually plenty of people worth watching).
