Jazz & Blues

Swanky restaurant brought to us by Mark Soyka who gave us the News Café and Van Dyke’s. His trademark is outdoor dining perfectly suited to the tropical heat of Miami, but this venue has only a few al fresco seats. It’s mostly indoors, a cool, cavernous space with industrial, exposed girder ceilings and stressed concrete walls. Terrazzo floors, plush booths and banquette seating add more subtle touches and the booths are perfect for intimate evenings and power lunches. We recommend fine American wines with the fish; smooth gin martinis with the steaks, and cocktails with virtually anything. Dashing staff make an array of Caiparinhas, Cosmos and Gimlets and will prepare off menu if you ask. Regulars are professionals and arty types, not the often phoney fashionista crowd you get at many Miami spots.
