Like stepping into a gorgeous beach house, Wunder Bar is decked out with rattan chairs, comfy sofas and Delft blue curtains, all accented with splashes of vibrant color. Located within the Circa 39 Hotel, the bar is light and airy and promises to provide guests with a small sample of the cultural melting pot that is Miami itself via its creative drinks and bar bites menu.
In front of the well-stocked and mosaic-tiled bar you’ll find an all-female bartending team who were hand-picked for their superb knowledge of spirits and their ability to mix masterful cocktails presented as beautifully as the bar itself (which, incidentally, opens up onto the hotel’s pool deck – the perfect place to sip a few drinks when the weather is hot). Several of Wunder Bar’s cocktails focus on rum, such as the Vanilla Sky – jalapeno peppers, ginger puree, dark rum, herbal and orange liqueurs and fresh lime juice, served with vanilla flavored ice – and the Smashed Sangria – fresh blackberries, lemon, orange, white rum, vermouth and ginger beer, served over frozen grapes. They also sell flights of rum (light, dark, aged and premium), and Brazilian lemonade infused with the spirit. The rest of Wunder Bar’s cocktails enhance the international flavor of the bar itself, fusing Asian, Mexican and South American ingredients and there is even a range of “teapot cocktails” for larger groups, served with Moroccan glassware and a silver teapot. Wunder Bar’s craft beers and artisanal wines are all sourced in the US, and are the prefect accompaniments to the small food menu, which includes delights like street tacos, curry-fried chickpeas and “Bang Bang” shrimp.
