Amid all the glitz and glamor of Monte Carlo, it’s good to know that the venerable Irish pub still has a place at the table, and based on our research, don’t be surprised at all if you end up spending plenty of hours at McCarthy’s tables during your time there.
Gaelic-style font on a green awning outside? They’ve got it. Vintage Irish stout ads and fiddles on the walls inside? That too. Wooden barrels emblazoned with Irish whisky brand logos, wooden plank flooring, and dart boards dotted throughout? All affirmative. Basically, McCarthy’s is everything you would expect an Irish pub to be, but it just happens to be located by the Mediterranean Sea.
The authentic decor and warm spirit of the staff are great, and combined with the international live sports on the screens are all spectacular reasons to make time for McCarthy’s, but as you may have guessed by our name, for us, it’s all about the libations here. Beer is a big part of McCarthy’s repertoire, as the bar is home to multiple taps pouring lagers, ciders, stouts, and ales, but that doesn’t mean they don’t know how to make a mean cocktail or two. A quality wine list is also on offer, and if you get hungry there’s a tasty food menu featuring everything from pub classic dishes like chicken wings and Irish Stew to foie gras and roasted Camembert (hey, it is Monaco after all).
