This seductive Montpellier bar combines two of our favourite things: cocktails and dim sum. While dim sum is traditionally a day-time affair, intended to pair with tea, their shareable nature means they work well in the evenings too.
Le Parfum is an attractive space, dark and romantic, a low-lit den-like space flecked with red, Chinese-style paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Asian-inspired cocktails include the Zaitochi, a refreshing blend of cucumber, ginger, wasabi, lemon juice and vodka. The aromatic A Star is Born meanwhile mixes pear puree with star anis, lemon juice, vanilla liqueur, and herbs.
Less obviously Asian in influence but no less delicious, they make a top notch Bacon Old Fashioned and the signature Le Parfum, scented with coconut, is also a winner. Try the Saketini too, if you have time.
The dim sum menu is also worthy of your attention. They serve a range of traditional and less traditional dumplings and small bites, both steamed and fried, and prettily presented. The atmosphere is stylish but agreeably so, the perfect place to while away a night, making this rightly one of the hottest spots in town.
