The funky Red Tiger is a self-styled Vietnamese pub, handily located a few minutes of walk from métro Beaudry, serving authentic Vietnamese street food. It’s a popular, always bustling spot. The décor is basic and diner-like with a chequerboard floor, a gleaming counter at which you can perch as well as some table seating, and a splash of red neon adding colour to the room. The Red Tiger menu includes lots of tasty things, including green papaya salad, impossibly fresh shrimp spring rolls, variations on the bahn mi, those famous Vietnamese sandwiches made with rice flour baguettes, and other street food goodies. There’s an abundance of zingy fresh seafood as well as braised piggy parts and plenty of choice for vegetarians. They also serve fresh juices, Vietnamese coffee and a range of fruity refreshing cocktails – their mixed drinks are part of this place’s appeal, with many unique cocktails inspired by the flavours of Vietnam.
