Mercedes Bar at Radisson Royal Hotel
May 11, 2018
It won’t come as much surprise that this bar is a joint venture with Mercedes‐Benz, bringing the exclusive car brand to the 31st floor of the Radisson Royal Hotel in Moscow. Retro posters of Mercedes classics, old and new, adorn the walls and the odd model car is tastefully displayed among the Art Deco style interior. But while Mercedes may provide the theme, the real star of the show here is the panoramic view, taking in the city in all its splendour, from the skyscrapers of the business quarter to the White House government building. Huge floor to ceiling windows make the most of the scenery, while inside mirrored panels reflect the views for further dramatic effect.
And if the bird’s eye vantage point doesn’t make you dizzy, the drinks menu certainly will. Covering page after page it takes in an expanse of cocktails ‐ cold, hot, and non‐alcoholic ‐ as well wine, beer and spirits. As would be expected, there are plenty of Mercedes‐inspired concoctions, such as the the GL‐Class ‐ blackcurrant syrup, lime, campari and cognac. Hot cocktails include the rather tempting‐sounding Hot Butter Apple, with cinnamon syrup and rum ‐ perfect for Moscow’s long winters. The food menu is almost as lengthy, with an emphasis on sushi and sashimi and some European‐inspired dishes thrown in for good measure. The full dinner and drinks experience doesn’t come cheap though ‐ this is Mercedes after all.
