Casual
Husk
Nashville-City-center
May 11, 2018
This second outpost
for Charleston’s popular and acclaimed Husk occupies a handsome historic
building in Nashville. The light, roomy venue speaks of the past, it’s an
elegant, welcoming space. The bar isn’t a stand-alone operation as it is at
its predecessor but it’s still an agreeable place to have a pre-dinner drink.
Sean Brock’s modern Southern cooking continues excellent and there’s a pretty
green garden on which to look out as you dine. The wine
list is interesting too, and the sommeliers know their stuff and will help
you pair your wine with their bold Southern flavours: warm oysters, smoked
catfish, glorious locally sourced grass-fed steak cooked to perfection. The
Mayflower, a mix of gin, Cocchi Americano, honey, lemon juice, and orange
bitters, is one of the top sips on a creative and considered drinks list.
Attention to detail is evident here as it is everywhere else.
