Described as a ‘hipsters’ paradise’ by The Guardian (who, let’s face it, should know) Nashville’s No. 308 is a chilled out, stylish, simply but handsomely designed space which really delivers when it comes to both food and booze. A combo of synth pop and soul provides an aural backdrop to the feasting. The bar is the brainchild of Alexis Soler and Ben Clemons, two long-time bar professionals, and it shows. These guys are responsible for some of the best drinks in the city. Their Mai Tai is a bright, zingy mix of fresh lime, house-made orgeat, Dry Curacao, Appleton Rum and fresh mint. Their Ramos Gin Fizz is also beautifully executed, something which can be said of all their cocktails, and we like the fact that there shots take their names from the beat writers: Bukowski, Thompson, and Burroughs. The kitchen serves up an array of small (and not so small) plates. The Pork Belly Benedict on their brunch menu is both a ridiculous and essential dish, rightly famed. Their happy hour deals are well worth checking out too.
