1911 Bar @ The Imperial India
New Delhi-Center
May 11, 2018
An illustrious tribute to a bygone era, the 1911 Bar at the luxurious Imperial India hotel impresses with its vintage decor, but will leave you marvelling at its modern cocktail selection and execution. The bar pays homage in its name to the year that New Delhi was established, and the interior of the bar seems like it could have been frozen in time from that fateful year. Bold black-and-white checkerboard floor tiles, hunter green leather sofas, and a main bar fashioned from dark wood and stained glass accents all set the tone at the main bar in 1911. In addition to the spacious main room, 1911 Bar is home to two private rooms: the Hardinge Room and the Lutyens & Baker Room. Both of these spaces are named after New Delhi founding fathers, and their walls are graced with antique adornments and military artifacts that add even more touches of yesteryear to the venue. When it comes time to enjoy a drink, you are spoiled for choice as 1911 Bar is home to over 500 varieties of spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail combinations, all mixed and poured by a staff renowned as one of the finest in all of India. If whiskey is your tipple of choice, you are especially in luck, as 1911 Bar has recently been awarded a Gold Award by the Whiskey Bars of The World for its selection and dedication to the spirit.
