New York City-Brooklyn

One of the coolest new kids on the Brooklyn block, Loosie Rouge is putting a chic twist on the laid back and fun local bar, topping a stylish atmosphere with drinks inspired by the cocktail capital of America: New Orleans. Located in the heart of Williamsburg, Loosie Rouge feels different from the moment you step in. Exposed white brick walls and fireplace (filled with pastel painted logs), colorful Native American-inspired rugs and pillows, and slick wood paneling on the ceiling make it feel as though you’ve just entered a friend’s fixed up basement – a friend with spot-on style, that is. The centerpiece of it all though is most certainly a beautiful retro brown wicker bar, that straddles the line of ‘tiki’ and ‘1950s posh’ perfectly. When it comes time to order a drink, you are in great hands as the list was created by an award-winner and presents some of the best cocktail flavors of Louisiana, putting little Loosie Rouge twists on things along the way. Take for example the Loosie’s Cup, their take on the Pimm’s Cup (the British summer classic also huge in New Orleans), Loosie Rouge adds rhubarb syrup and celery bitters to their edition with delicious results. Other Big Easy-inspired standouts with a twist include the Hurry-cane – an homage to the French Quarter classic with banana-tinged rum, passion fruit, lime, and a dusting of chili pepper – and a rum-soaked frozen daiquiri with touches of roasted plantains, lime, and green tea.
