New York City-Brooklyn

Yet another stylish Williamsburg rooftop bar and restaurant this neighbourhood after all is already home to some seriously hip open air spaces, like The Ides in the Wythe Hotel. Housed in shiny new retail complex Space Ninety 8, The Gorbals is a penthouse space, perched atop a branch of Urban Outfitters, with a laid-back vibe it’s very Williamsburg, the kind of place where you can hang out in your own private cabana-style banquettes and sip killer drinks. Their cocktails are a cut above layered drinks, with an emphasis on brown spirits and whiskey they have a selection of over 20 labels from which you can choose. Beer is also on the money here with some 12 offerings on tap, including a number of hip craft ales and more refreshing summer evening drinks. The generous happy hour knocking 25% off your tab makes this one of the more reasonable rooftop drinking spots in the city, one that won’t though serious damage to your wallet while you soak up the atmosphere and the cool city views. The food menu, care of Ilan Hall, is inventive and sometimes a bit out-there this is the kind of place that serves pig’s blood tofu but in our eyes that’s another reason to like this place.
