Gannouri is an upscale restaurant and lounge bar in the heart of K-Town. Located on the thirty-ninth floor of a neighbourhood office building, the bar boasts some pretty epic views of the surrounding city. It’s a smart, modern space, serving high-end, spruced-up Korean food and a good range of classic cocktails to go with it. It lacks the clamour and bustle (and maybe a bit of the heart) of most other Korea Town restaurants, but makes up for that in terms of style and that view. The bar stocks several types of traditional Korean tipples, hot and cold sake, and plenty of beer, a very decent wine list and a short cocktail list featuring tempting creations like the Mint Lemon Julep and the sparkling Cherry Fizz. They do a very appealing happy hour offer and their bar snacks include moreish fried squid and Korean-style chicken wings. On the food front, there has been talk of style over substance, and that taste has been sacrificed for aesthetics, but you can’t argue with that view or the service, which is excellent.
