Hotel Giraffe is a boutique hotel located near Madison Square on Park Avenue South: a perfect jumping-off point for tourists to explore the many sights of Manhattan.

During the summer months (and the warmer spring and autumn nights) the hotel’s Rooftop Garden is open to the general public so that they too can enjoy an al fresco drink or two while taking in the NYC skyline. The hotel itself is full of style, in a streamlined contemporary décor that is both fresh and elegant- and the Rooftop Garden is no different. Located on the twelfth floor of the hotel it has exposed brick arches and columns surrounding the patio area, relaxed seating areas and the odd stylistic giraffe. It offers stunning views over Park Avenue and the Flatiron district to boot. All is well.

The appeal of the Rooftop Garden to the wider public – Manhattanites and tourists alike – when the weather hots up comes as no surprise. It is a tranquil and relaxed oasis, high above the hustle and bustle of street-level Manhattan. The result is a calm vibe full of in-the-know locals, day-tripper tourists who have stumbled across a gem, and, of course, the lucky hotel guests. The wide selection of drinks on offer, as well as a carefully constructed cocktail menu, may lead you to linger for longer than intended. Try a Long Island iced tea to refresh yourself from the urban scenes below, or opt for a straightforward bellini and settle down to watch the sunset in style. One small caveat to keep in mind: like most hotel spaces, this rooftop bar can also be rented out for private events, so it’s best to call ahead to make sure it will be open to the public before stopping by!
