Sugarcane is the sexy new lounge of chic Japanese-Brazilian restaurant Sushi-Samba, and is named for the sweet-tasting plant from which the Brazilian potion Cachaca comes. And potions are the name of the Sugarcane game. A swanky lounge drenched in vibrant colour, expect to find designer-clad hipsters lounging on sofas or taking places at the bar, ordering from a long menu of rum and cane cocktails. A huge wrought-iron tree sculpture in the cavernous space even has branches bearing glasses of drinks. The Caipirinha is of course their specialty, but this being a Japanese-Brazilian restaurant, they also have a signature called the Sultry Sake, made from soju, sake, mango and lychee puree. Our own favourite is the Inti: a mix of white Bacardi, muddled kiwi, lychee and pineapple, with sugar and orange liqueur added. All this plus sushi snacks at bar and samba music. Viva!
