New York City-Lower East Manhattan

With a strong playlist game going on in the background and a fun atmosphere – helped along by the friendly bar staff – it is perfect for hanging out with friends or colleagues. And with dark wooden fittings, moody lighting, comfy leather seating and a backlit shelf of whiskeys and liquors that draws the eye, it has the laid-back yet elegant appeal nailed down.
The bar has an extensive array of spirits, and a more than half-decent wine list, yet a very cute and concise cocktail menu. Don’t be put off for a lack of choice, however, as what is lost in size is probably made up for in taste. Special shout out goes to their Elyx Cup – a refreshing twist of vodka and champagne served with a mixture of fresh mint and cucumber and lime juice. For something more extravagant, try their Clicquot Spritz – you can’t go far wrong with this bold mix of blood orange and French champagne. Or try their variation on the Old Fashioned out for size. If you are a little peckish their bar snacks do not disappoint either, with tasty fries, gorgeously gooey quesadillas, and even a more upmarket tuna tartare if it tickles your fancy.
As you’d expect from a bar that attracts more workers than a beehive, this place buzzes from 5 pm onwards. Reserve a table if you are going with a crowd, or creep into one of their deep couches for something more intimate. Either way you are likely to find the bar area packed but with the efficient service on offer, you shouldn’t be too worried.
