Analogue is a hip, but surprisingly spacious venue from one of the guys behind Employees Only. It’s sexy and low-lit, but also roomy with the feel of a swanky basement rec room from the Mad Men era. There’s a definite retro thing going on, what with the vintage lamps and rugs, the cute mini-decanters, the turntable for spinning Vinyl records and the photos of bluesmen on the walls. They like their music here, that’s for sure, and there’s live jazz most nights. There’s mustard yellow banquette seating at the back, Parisian style marble-topped tables at the front. Take your pick. The signature cocktail is an inventive take on a Dark and Stormy with a dash of bourbon thrown into the mix. You’ll also want to try the Matahari, a glorious mix of cognac, chai-infused sweet vermouth, lemon and pomegranate, garnished with dried rosebuds. It sounds and looks as good as it tastes. We also like the sound of the Belle Epoque, a potent blend of scotch and Elderflower Liqueur with mandarin syrup, lime juice and orange liqueur – served on the rocks.
