About Zerzura at Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC
Plunge at the Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC was for a long time one of the city’s top spots for rooftop drinking. Now the venue has been revamped and renamed Zerzura. It still boasts the same epic views of the Hudson River but now has a slightly less luxe, more welcoming Mediterranean-inspired vibe. Named after the mythical oasis located deep in the desert, it’s an attractive space decorated with blue and white tiles, murals of the dessert, hand-made tapestries imported from Marrakech, and Moroccan lanterns that glow alluringly in the night sky. There’s a menu of Middle-eastern fare on offer as well as a great range of cocktails to sample – if you’re going to go up for a visit, be sure to hunt down the ’secret’ garden area – it’s the place where the cool kids like to congregate. The bar has a lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere and is open until the small hours for late night partying.
