Spread over two floors Quality Italian, the sister venue of popular upscale steak joint Quality Meats, is a temple to old-world Italian-American food and cocktails. Big flavours are the order of the day, both on the plate and in the glass. The drinks list is the work of Bryan Schneider, formerly of the Monkey Bar and the famed Clover Club, and features a selection of classics reinvented. The burnt sugar Manhattan is spiked with sour cherries and their Negronis, which come by the pitcher, is the perfect partner to a plateful of epic meatiness. The Dirty Calabrian, a martini spiked with red pepper is also on the money, ditto the Red Tag Reviver made with small batch gin, fresh lemon, St. Germain and Campari Graffiti. The impressive wine list features over 325 bottles, sourced from around the world, with a focus on Italian, American and French vino. The space is gorgeous, an expensive expanse of wood and marble, tiled floors and curved leather booths, a huge wall of wine. Food-wise, there’s a raw bar (of course) and a selection of superb house-made pasta dishes as well as some pretty serious meat and fish dishes. The signature Lemon Meringue Tart is well worth saving room for. In a word:
