The Bonnie
New York City-Midtown Manhattan
May 11, 2018
A favorite gastropub among locals home to some of the best cocktails in Astoria, Queens, and a beautiful back garden to drink them in, The Bonnie is the type of place everyone should have in their neighborhood. While the terrace out back is downright enchanting, the inside of The Bonnie isn’t shabby either, with exposed brick, lush hanging greenery, vintage wallpaper, and large bulbous lighting fixtures. The aforementioned outdoor space follows suit, full of stylish wooden tables and retractable shades that when pulled back at night are replaced with fairy lights to create a downright fetching atmosphere. The food is delicious at The Bonnie, they even do a delicious brunch, but it’s the drinks we’re naturally most excited about, and rest assured, they take them seriously. In fact, the drinks menu is inspired by their love of diverse flavors, offering the absolute best of local craft beers, a quality wine selection, and a stunning variety of cocktails based around seasonal fruit, fresh herbs and vintage recipes. A few examples of the quality concocted recently are the Good Ol’ Boy – brown butter washed bourbon, Italian herbal liqueur, pear nectar, burnt orange, spices, lemon, and bitters – and Clyde’s Gal – black tea infused gin, sherry, French aperitif, blackberry jam, mint, lemon, and grapefruit bitters.
