The meat centric Breslin restaurant and bar sits inside the famous Ace hotel. Artisanal flavours flow out of their kitchen with ingredients sourced from small growers and local farmers.
The Breslin is not for the faint hearted. Meat being their speciality, entire pigs are served up on a platter for you and a group to enjoy. The walls, draped in chained lighting and taxidermy animals help to create a dark and ambient scene that is key for this ‘ballroom esque’ gastro pub. Chef April Bloomfield and Restaurateur Ken Friedman have worked hard to create the Breslins reputation for delicious food and intricate menus as well as being winners of the Michelin star award. The food portions are rather large so if you aren’t that peckish you could order one to share or go for the ‘small plates’.
Their big meal menu focuses mainly on hearty meats. We love the curried lamb shank that comes with a side of crispy potatoes, mint yoghurt and a choice of pickled eggplant or mango chutney. The Breslin’s speciality is their stuffed pigs foot, so if you can stomach the thought of it, definitely give it a go!
The bar menu is rather Impressive with a huge range of rotating craft beers and spirits and large cocktail menu. Their cocktails are all made with freshly squeezed juices as well as in house made syrups. Go for their ‘Brooklyn Bramble’ cocktail that has gin, blackcurrant and pomegranate shrub and pressed lemon!
