New York City-Midtown Manhattan

Perched on the 29th floor of the sophisticated, subtly luxurious Viceroy hotel in Manhattan, The Roof is an alluring lounge space with an outdoor terrace which allows you to soak up the iconic skyline along with some glorious views of Central Park. The work of famous design firm Roman and Williams, the space has been designed to evoke the inside of a luxury airliner complete with brass rails and custom-made walnut-and-leather sofas. The walls are decorated with photographic images of sky, sea and clouds to further enhance this effect. The drinks menu features a wide range of small-batch spirits as well as regionally brewed craft beers, and a strong wine selection. Cocktails are well made here too: their Jalapeno Margarita delivers a lovely kick while the Trouble Maker, a mix of vodka, bonal, strawberry and cucumber soda, is summery and refreshing. On New York’s colder nights you may want to try one of their signature hot cocktails. We like the sound of the Lauren in the Winter, a winning blend of cognac, tea, lemon, honey and cloves (how Christmassy does that sound?) and the Snowday, a blend of vodka, hot chocolate, crushed star anise and whipped cream which is essentially a dessert in a glass (with vodka).
