May 11, 2018
Perched up on the 21st floor of the Strand Hotel, Top of the Strand offers you an up close and personal view of one of the New York’s most iconic sights, the Empire State Building. This year round venue with its slide-away glass ceiling and contemporary interiors care of set designer Lydia Marks has a relaxed, intimate yet stylish cocktail loft appeals to locals and hotel guests both. There are patterned banquettes on which to unwind with a drink spotted with zebra—print cushions and an indoor-outdoor vibe with splashes of greenery dotted about the room adding to the oasis-like feel of the place. Cocktails are divided into four groups – Classic, Modern, Vanguard and Exotic – and are made and presented with care. There are also a good range of wines and spirits available. On Thursdays through Saturdays there are guest D.J.s kicking the mood up a gear. On warmer nights, the roof is retracted, opening the space to the stars and giving you even more of an excuse to marvel at that incredible view, at the majesty of the Empire State building and the thrill of the city beyond.
