The Fairmont’s bambú Lounge is a laid-back and elegant bar that’s fast becoming one of Newport Beach’s most popular places to meet, drink, eat and relax in true Californian style. The chic, modern decor features a marble-topped bar and warm hues, and the service is equally warm and friendly as the bartenders pour out one-of-a-kind cocktails. Martinis and Manhattans are a speciality here, with some unique twists on the classics. The Valley Girl Martini combines Grey Goose Vodka with St Germain and Californian lemon essence, while the Orange County Manhattan brings together Maker’s Mark bourbon, Carpano Antica and orange bitters. Other specials include the California Negroni – Hendrick’s gin, Carpano Antica and Aperol on block ice. A generous happy hour runs from 4pm – 7pm, Monday to Friday, and includes $5 draft and bottle beer and a $10 mixologist featured drink, as well as $6 tasting plates from bambú’s creative menu of fresh Californian cuisine. The Lounge also hosts The Liquid Arts Series – a programme of exclusive wine and spirits seminars held in the bar on the first Wednesday of every month, where guests can brush up on their knowledge of wine and spirits with industry professionals including award-winning sommeliers, mixologists and chefs.
