Native Son Alehouse
Orange County-Santa Ana
May 11, 2018
Native Son Alehouse is the relaxed and chilled out bar that suits everyone’s needs. Based in downtown Santa Ana, it is a slick and elegant bar that focuses on good drinks and happy customers.
The bar decor itself is fairly simple with an exposed ceiling and a wooden bar top; it is pretty chilled-out inside. However, the eye-catching part of this bar is the huge outdoor terrace. Under a canopy of twinkling lights, wooden benches stretch along the entire length, accompanied by beer barrels being used as drinks stands. There is a decent amount of seating outside, which means in those hot summer months you can chill in the breeze.
This alehouse isn’t somewhere you can stop off for a 3-course dinner, but they do have a pretty tasty if not huge range of typical American bar food. If you’re a tad peckish we recommend you go for their turkey pesto sandwich. They also do an odd but tasty basket of brussel sprout chips! While the menu is rather limited they do give you the chance to taste some unique flavours such as boar and even alligator!
While it is an ‘alehouse’ they do serve a vast range of other drinks. Native Son show off it’s 27 rotating beers and ales on tap. Their wines and beers are imported from local breweries as well as globally from countries such as Britain, Germany, Belgium and Japan. We do however suggest the Belgium salted caramel brownie ale! It is as delicious as it sounds!
