Located in a 19th-century industrial zone practice rooms and small music businesses abound, Blß started life in 1998 as a jazz club. Thereafter, it expanded its repertoire and made the itself the venue for music of all stripes. It’s worth noting that the building once served as a diamond vault and the toilets are in a former safe. Bring your stethescope just in case! In summer, you can sit outside nursing a beer in evening sunshine and watch the river Akerselva flow past. Inside, your eardrums will quiver to the sounds of everything from death-metal to experimental jazz. Trendy Norwegians make a point of descending on this Mecca to music every weekend, and to judge by the gay abandon with which they dance, both the music and the venue are a signal success.
