Originally a boat, Lektern is an open air maritime restaurant and Oslo landmark. Its a favourite local hang out in the summer months. Opened in 2007, the Lektern Lounge offers a slightly more trendy space capable of holding 500 revelers. There are sunbeds for sprawling on and comfy couches for relaxing into and soaking up the harbor-side atmosphere. As evening comes, the mood gets livelier, the resident DJ gets to work, and atmospheric beats fill the air as people dance, talk and sip cocktails until the early hours (well, until 3am). The seafood-heavy menu is worth further investigation and Lektern’s regular summer barbecue nights are also definitely worth checking out.
