Café
Cafe Charbon
Paris-Bastille and the Marais
May 11, 2018
Housed in a 19th-century coal merchant’s premises in the Oberkampf district, Café Charbon is not short of character. The building abounds with period features and high ceilings and large mirrors make the space seem very airy and spacious. An eclectic crowd sits at small wooden tables lit by cute low-hanging red lamps. The drinks are decent there’s a particularly good selection of wines and the typically French food is tasty and satisfying. The whole place has an appealing slightly boho vibe, yet is pleasingly unpretentious with it. Gets super busy on weekends.
