Night Out
Favela Chic
Paris-Bastille and the Marais
May 11, 2018
While the name might border on the objectionable – ghetto chic, seriously? – if you can get past that, and the casual disregard that implies, this a pretty hip night spot. On Fridays and Saturdays the in-house DJs do their thing and their Mojitos are some of the best in town. The menu of Brazilian dishes is also worth exploring and their Caipirinha are authentic (and delicious); the Batida de Coco is ideal for those with a sweet tooth, and they even serve a superb version of that retro favourite, the Pina Colada. There’s a good mix of wines available too and the music, all bossa grooves and modern samba is transporting. The crowd is mostly made up of stylish twenty-somethings reveling in the Brazilian glamour of the place.
