Paris-Bastille and the Marais

In the center of the storied Saint-Germain-des-Prés district in Paris, L’Arbane is serving fine cocktails, beer, and champagne in a unique, part-club, part-bar atmosphere. Let’s start with the design of this space, because it was the first thing that grabbed our attention. L’Arbane feels like a wine cavern on first impression, where stone walls and arches abound, but they’ve brilliantly balanced out that coolness with warm tropical greenery, soft seating, and our personal favorite – tubes of lightsaber-like lighting fixtures dangling above the bar. At night, soft pastel lights permeate the space in the club-centric section, exuding a seriously stylish vibe. The main reason we love L’Arbane though is for their drinks, as they can craft cocktails with the best in Paris. The menu is divided into sections, with each one from Aperos (think fun night-starters like The Arbane which features champagne and a liqueur that blends cognac with ginger and vanilla), to Classics, Sharers, and Shots (think fun toss-backs like the Hot Apple made with cinnamon-flavored whiskey) full of standouts. It’s the Signatures though that capture our attention the most, as they really show off the skill of the bartenders, with a couple of our favorites being the Ladies Kiss (premium gin, basil, homemade grenadine, lime juice, and egg white) and the The Julep Roussillon (premium whiskey, apricot liqueur, mint, and lime juice). Their craft beer game is equally as strong, as is their choice of champagne labels; the perfect way to take your night to the next level here.
