Le Forvm

Open since 1918 and owned by the same family since 1931, Le Forvm was recently forced to close its original location and move to a newer, shinier one – but this hasn’t affected its ambiance or extensive drinks list one bit. Retaining some of the decor features from the original location (including a pair of legendary nostalgia-inducing jukeboxes and a curved bar crammed with shiny spirit bottles), Le Forvm now also sports contemporary light fixtures and elegant leather couches to complete the lounge bar mood. A true Parisian institution, Le Forvm is still famous for its cocktail list – served with flair by a team of suited bartenders – which contain top-shelf spirits, homemade syrups and fruity garnishes. The Royal Red is a regular favorite – champagne, red fruit puree, cranberry juice and black raspberry liquor – but the Tea Party (gin, vermouth, blackberry liqueur and homemade Earl Grey bitters) is equally as refreshing and delightful. There are many takes on classic concoctions (including a particularly delicious Spiced Zombie and photogenic Porn Star Martini) and there are also some humorously-name mocktails (a Bloody Shame, anyone?). The international whisky list is particularly impressive, but Le Forvm’s other spirits – including modern staples mezcal and pisco – and champagnes are equally as quaff-able. A small menu of tasting plates including foie gras, cheese and meat platters is also available.Photo Credit: http://www.bar-le-forum.com/
