The Fish Club
May 11, 2018
The guys behind the Experimental Cocktail Group whose other bars include Curio Parlor, Prescription, and the Beef Club have turned their attention to things marine with their hip new fish and booze hot spot, the Fish Club. Located next door to the Beef Club, the space boasts a raw bar and a menu of fresh seafood alongside the obligatory killer drinks. In keeping with the other venues in the group, the interior design is super stylish, all bold black-and-white tiles and bright wallpaper. The room is airy and light-filled with funky and colourful retro seating. There’s a South American influence in the drinks list with pisco-based cocktails featuring prominently – and their drink prices are pretty reasonable, especially given the quality. There’s also a decent selection of wines to choose from, mainly white, as well as a foo menu full of fresh, vibrant dishes, like Peruvian ceviche (in keeping with the Latin American theme), oysters, crabcakes and caviar. The Beef Club’s subterranean speakeasy-style Ballroom is mere steps away if you want to continue your night in style. Given the popularity of the place and the reputation of the other venues, it comes as little surprise that reservations are pretty much essential here. Call ahead to avoid disappointment.
