Paname Brewing Company – the name is a slang term for Paris in French – is a new hip microbrewery. They’ve taken a historic Canal de l’Ourcq warehouse and refreshed and revitalized it, adding colour and life to what can be a sombre neighbourhood. The space itself features a long bar, big tables, a kitchen behind a wire fence and an array of dazzling stainless steel tanks where their five house beers are fermenting. These house brews have quirky names inspired by interesting aspects of the city. But they also serve beers from other local breweries. There’s also a cocktail list featuring some standard drinks as well as some specials with a French twist like the Elderflower G&T or the East Paris Pisco Sour. If you’re hungry they also have a nice selection of upscale pub grub on offer. But one of the chief joys of the space is their gorgeous terrace, part of which is built around a still standing historically protected tree.  They also have a pontoon which holds 85 people over the cool waters of the canal, but it’s proving popular so you’ll need to get there early to grab a spot.
