The team behind Copper Bay has some impressive cocktail cred between them. This new nautically themed bar has been growing in popularity since September 2014 – when it soft-launched – and it’s easy to see why. With its large and lovely windows, abundance of light wood, and handsome copper trimmings it’s a pleasing space, and much less dour than some cocktail temples. Their tagline of “Mermaids and Magic Potions” and this conjures something of their playful approach to mixology. The tempting drinks menu features numerous classics as well as a small selection of house creations and the majority of drinks are at pocket-friendly prices (at least by Paris standards – around the 9€ mark). The Black Julep is a case in point, a creative and elegantly presented drink flavoured with fig extract and blackberry. It’s a real treat. There’s a good list of wine, beers and other aperitifs to choose from and they’ve more recently introduced an enticing food menu for those who want something tasty to pair with their cocktails.
