Le Tiki Lounge
May 11, 2018
The Tiki wave finally hits Paris. The post-war craze has been enjoying something of a period of resurgence of late and long after everyone else has succumbed to the joys of abundant bamboo, Polynesian kitsch and potent rum-based drinks, the city of light has finally acquired its own dedicated tiki bar. All the south-seas paraphernalia is present and correct: rattan furniture, blowfish lamps, Polynesian masks and the menu abounds with classic tiki drinks, including the obligatory Mai Tai and Pina Colada. True, the music eschews pop and cheese for something altogether more hip and eclectic, but then this is Paris and old habits die hard.
